Shelby Seitter, LAC, MSW, ADS, EMDR Trained

I help men who struggle with addiction, depression, and anxiety to break free and get on with living their best life.

My mission is to provide high-quality mental health and recovery to men. The most rewarding and fulfilling moments of my life have been in the therapy room with the men I work with, witnessing as they learn more about themselves, process through their past and make positive changes in their lives. I help guys who feel like they have no direction to get unstuck. I believe that combining traditional talk therapy with EMDR therapy is a powerful method for bringing about lasting changes. In the therapy room, I am warm and supportive while staying focused on your therapy goals.

My Work

I have been working in the mental health and substance abuse/addictions field for over 5 years. I have specialized in working with adult men who are experiencing addiction, mental wellness issues, and trauma.  In the therapy office, I work to build on your strengths. I have a recovery approach in order to help improve and increase your overall health and functioning. While I respect and honor where you are in the recovery journey, I will be direct by pointing out possible issues that might need to be addressed in therapy.

My Experience

Over the past 5 years, I have extensive experience working in multiple residential settings, as well as outpatient settings. I have advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Acudetoxification Specialist (ADS); Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing; and Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Who I am

I am originally from the Kansas City area and have been in Colorado since 2014. I have been in Denver for most of that time, as well as Steamboat Springs, CO. Most days I enjoy early morning work-outs, spending time with my dog, as well as friends and family. People typically describe me as a bright, energetic person who values interpersonal communication. Most clients report feeling that I am easy to talk to about difficult subjects and that they are able to make the changes in their lives due to the support I am able to provide.

I look forward to engaging in individual sessions on Saturdays and helping more people make the changes they want to make.
