My clinical approach to men’s therapy and working with clients centers around self-empowerment and regaining a sense of control over thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by focusing on boundaries and the role they play on individuals as well as relationships.
I offer men’s therapy in the Denver area. I promote self-empowerment by helping my clients learn and implement healthy emotional and relational boundaries. These tools are helpful in managing mental health issues and relationship distress, which is ultimately the goal.
Through men’s therapy, I help men overcome substance abuse and addiction, work through relationship issues and parenting struggles, heal from trauma and PTSD, find tools for stress management, build up low self-esteem, and treat depression and anxiety. I also have experience with some dissociative disorders.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Denver as well as a Licensed Addiction Counselor, and AAMFT-Approved Supervisor. I have been in the field since 2012 and have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient/residential, outpatient, private practice, as well as withdrawal management/detox. I’ve also spent about a year living in West Africa where I did volunteer counseling focused on trauma, war/combat trauma, post-war adjustment and reintegration, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and gender-specific issues. I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University (COAMFTE Accredited) and I’m currently working toward my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University (COAMFTE Accredited).
I knew from a fairly early age that I wanted to be a therapist for men and have dedicated my life to learning, growing, and becoming the most effective and helpful therapist for my clients. My unique and diverse clinical background has allowed me to have a comprehensive approach to my clients and their issues.
I am a Colorado native who was born and raised in the Denver metro area. As much as I love Colorado, I also love traveling and have been fortunate enough to visit several different states and countries. Additionally, I also love spending time with my family and friends and going on new adventures.
I understand what it is like to struggle and I have seen many different forms of it in my career. If you are struggling personally or in your relationship, I am here to help you work through it all and help you find tools to move forward.
