Megan Hall, LCSW, Certified EMDR Therapist
Megan Hall, LCSW, EMDR Certified
As a certified EMDR therapist here in Denver, I help men who feel overwhelmed by their emotions feel confident in managing them, bridge communication with their partner and feel more connected.
When learning about socialization and emotions, I often felt that men are encouraged (from birth) to focus on being strong, and smart and this often means keeping emotions hidden. My goal is to help you figure out how to feel confident in managing your emotions.
How I Work?
I always normalize the human experience of emotions and encourage a deeper understanding of how we learned to express ourselves. And, how we also can learn to do so in a more authentic and complete manner. I have been able to do this by being a clinical social worker.
“Megan is one of the most compassionate, genuine therapists I have ever worked with. She listens carefully and makes you feel heard. Her perspective is refreshing and on point. This is the kind of person you want on your journey.”
-K.O.
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is the privilege to meet so many different people and discovering their strengths while holding the space for healing.
My Experience
Psychotherapy is powerful work, and I often feel humbled and honored to be allowed to guide this process for so many. I have over 10 years experience providing mental health treatment to individuals, children and families. I specialize in and have advanced training for Attachment Focused Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR therapy).
I am a certified EMDR therapist and I have seen first-hand how this form of treatment is life changing. EMDR is a powerful model of therapy can be helpful for trauma, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and allow for deeper more connected relationships.
My areas of interest and expertise include trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, parenting support, stress management, and interpersonal relationships.
It was during my undergraduate school experience that I became very passionate about social justice and helping others. With a BA in sociology, I realized that as humans we have a delicate balance between who we are, what society encourages us to be, and how we choose to express this in our world. I found that I wanted to assist those that felt the restriction from society’s norms. And, support others with the social oppression many experience. This is what led me to specialize in Men’s Issues.
About Me
