Devon Emmanuel LCSW, LAC
I specialize in supporting young and adult males transitioning from treatment centers, empowering them to build a strong foundation for recovery and envision the fulfilling life they desire after leaving substance use behind.
As a licensed addiction counselor, I understand how early recovery can feel overwhelming and isolating, with relationships needing repair, boundaries requiring reinforcement, and uncertainty surrounding one’s identity and experiences. Often there are feelings of depression, anxiety, restlessness, hopelessness, unfocused and exhaustion. People often ask themselves will I be able to find a job? Repair family relationships? How will my friends respond? Feelings can be overwhelming. It’s normal to feel raw and vulnerable during this time, but this is not a solo journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
I work to create a safe and confidential space for men to work through these tough issues without judgment. Our work will focus on building trust and allowing you to make sense of yourself and your story, unburden yourself, take responsibility, and foster curiosity and compassion for yourself.
Through motivational interviewing, I guide clients to uncover their inner strengths and motivations, helping them embrace the challenges of life with resilience and authenticity. With Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we learn to lean into discomfort, discovering hidden opportunities for growth within life’s hurdles.
Utilizing principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), we explore your inner world, understanding the different parts of yourself that influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This journey of self-discovery cultivates self-compassion, authenticity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Many of my clients come to me saying, “I didn’t get sober for this.” Together, we’ll uncover what you did get sober for, rewriting your story and paving the way for a brighter tomorrow. You’re not alone—the journey begins with you, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
About Me
My path to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker began with my own experience in cultivating resilience through tough life challenges. By exploring my inner world and navigating complex family dynamics, I found healing and transformation. This profound experience inspired me to earn a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver, to empower others to achieve clarity, authentic expression, and growth.
I believe in the importance of movement, drawing inspiration from our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Walking 10 to 15 miles a day, lifting weights, engaging with my community, and spending time in nature help me stay in a natural flow state.
